What Mini-ALTO do you suggest for the Sennheiser MKH 8018?

For the Sennheiser MKH 8018, we’d recommend the Mini-ALTO 250 kit. The kit comes with a RAD-2 suspension w/smiley face adaptor for the Mini-ALTO basket and spare RAD hoops. It also comes with a pistol grip handle, that can replace the boom adaptor fitted with the RAD-2.
We offer a thin stereo XLR cable (5-pin/5-pin) for the Mini-ALTO in two different lengths. For use with the boom adaptor on the RAD-2 only we have the 260mm length cable. For use with the pistol grip handle we offer the longer 400mm cable. The cable comes with a small cable plug that fits into the smiley face adaptor cable exit. We’d then suggest locking the cable onto the bar of the smiley face with either a cable tie or our new cable clip/strap.
We offer the MA250 kits with either grey or black fur. The grey fur has 45mm length strands, and what we’d recommend for use in the field. The black for is slightly shorter, and intended more for light exterior use.
In summary, for the MKH 8018 I’d recommend the following:
- Mini-ALTO 250 Kit (inc. PG Handle, but no cable), with Grey Fur
- Mini-ALTO Stereo XLR5 Cable, 400mm (for use with PG Handle)
