How To Use Lav Urchins:
How do I cover my mic from wind?
To prevent wind noise on your lav mic, you will need wind protection. If you are indoors, we would suggest using a foam windscreen. If you're planning on being outdoors, using a Lav Urchin Windshield will give you sufficient wind protection.
What is a Puffer Urchin Windshield?
The puffer has a sewn in foam core. This was designed to give extra wind protection, without the hassle of fitting a foam inside the windcover - whilst also maintaining a small profile.
Why is there a blue safety strap on the Lav Urchin Windshield?
The blue safety strap is to ensure that the lavalier microphone doesn't slip out of the Lav Urchin Windshield. We use a faux suede that grips onto the lav microphone.
Having the blue safety strap means you can use a range of sized lav microphones.
