RAD-1 Shock Mount
The RAD-1 Shock Mounts are primarily for indoor booming with condenser pencil microphones (super-cardioid, cardioid and omni) or light short shotgun mics. The mount has soft-coated universal mic clips to fit mics 19-25mm in diameter. Each mount includes a pair of standard firmness hoops (black) and a pair of soft hoops (light blue).
The RAD-1 hoops have flat tops (no bracing). Recommended for Schoeps CCM & CMC Series, Sennheiser MKH50, Sennheiser MKH8020, Sennheiser MKH8040, Sennheiser MKH8050, DPA 4018, Neumann KM 100 and other small pencil condenser microphones. When using heavy slip-on wind covers, we would suggest using a RAD-1 black hoop or RAD-2 blue hoop in the front position to reduce any mic dipping.
RAD-2 Shock Mount
The RAD-2 Shock Mounts are designed to be used for booming with standard length shotgun microphones. The mount has soft-coated universal mic clips to fit mics 19-25mm in diameter. Each mount includes a pair of standard firmness hoops (black), a pair of soft hoops (light blue) and a pair of extra firm hoops (dark blue).
The RAD-2 hoops are slightly thicker than RAD-1 hoops and have an extra 3mm of bracing on top to hold the extra weight of front-heavy or longer microphones. Recommended for Sennheiser MKH416, Sennheiser MKH8060, Sennheiser MKE600, Schoeps CMIT 5, Schoeps SuperCMIT, Schoeps MiniCMIT, Sanken CS-3, Rode NTG-3, DPA 2017, DPA 4017 and other shotgun microphones. The different firmness of hoops can be mixed-and-matched based on your booming preference.
RAD-3 Shock Mount
The RAD-3 Shock Mounts are designed to be handheld or used for booming with standard length shotgun microphones. These mounts come with a pistol-grip handle with an embedded XLR holder and a 3/8 threaded slot to attach to a boom pole or stand. The mount has soft-coated universal mic clips to fit any mic 19-25mm in diameter. Each mount includes a pair of standard firmness hoops (black), a pair of soft hoops (light blue) and a pair of extra firm hoops (dark blue).
The RAD-3 hoops are the same as the RAD-2. Recommended for Sennheiser MKH416, Sennheiser MKH8060, Sennheiser MKE600, Schoeps CMIT 5, Schoeps SuperCMIT, Schoeps MiniCMIT, Sanken CS-3, Rode NTG-3, DPA 2017, DPA 4017 and other shotgun microphones. The different firmness of hoops can be mixed-and-matched based on your booming preference.
RAD Dark Edition
The RAD Shock Mount Dark Edition come in an all black & grey matte finish with no blue colour on the hoops or mic clips. These mounts have the same features and performance as the normal shock mounts and recommended for the same microphones.
The Dark Edition versions have soft-coated universal mic clips in dark grey colour, and come with the same hoops as the standard versions. However the soft firmness hoops included in each version are dark grey (instead of light blue). In this way, the Dark Edition mounts can be used when you need to remove bright colours from the end of the boom pole.
RAD-1 MKH50 Edition
The RAD-1 MKH50 Edition comes in an all black & grey matte finish with special mic clips to provide a customized fit for the Sennheiser MKH50 and similar square-body mics. These mounts have the same features and performance as other RAD-1 shock mounts.
The MKH50 Edition have non-coated mic clips that snap into place with the safety straps adding extra security. These come with a pair of standard firmness hoops (black) and soft firmness hoops (dark grey instead of light blue). In this way, the MKH50 Edition mounts can be used when you need to remove bright colours from the end of the boom pole.
RAD-1 CCM/CMC Edition
The RAD-1 CCM/CMC Edition comes in an all black & grey matte finish with special mic clips to provide a customized fit for Schoeps CCM & CMC series microphones. These mounts have the same features and performance as other RAD-1 shock mounts.
The CCM/CMC Edition come with a pair of dark grey soft-coated mic clips (for use with CMC 6 ampfliers) and one extra non-coated 8mm clip for use with Lemo connectors (CCM or CMC 1 L amplifiers). These come with a pair of standard firmness hoops (black) and soft firmness hoops (dark grey instead of light blue). In this way, the CCM/CMC Edition mounts can be used when you need to remove bright colours from the end of the boom pole. (Note: For CMC 6 with CUT 60 filter, the RAD-2 hoops may be used if you need a firmer suspension)
RAD-2 Camera Shoe Mount
The RAD-2 Camera Shoe Shock Mounts are designed for for use with standard length shotgun microphones and small condenser pencil microphones used on cameras. It provides exceptional isolation from movement, handling noise and other vibrations.
The mount has soft-coated universal mic clips to fit any mic 19-25mm in diameter. Each mount includes a pair of standard firmness hoops (black) mounted to a machined aluminium bracket design in partnership with our friends at MID49. The ratcheting shoe lock ensures a secure fit on cameras and other quick connects such as ARRI adaptors which accept the square shoe plates.
RAD Spare Parts
Configure your RAD mount exactly how you want it with a range of spare parts for every edition of the RAD-1, RAD-2 and RAD-3. All parts will fit with any of the mounts and the mic clips are designed to line up on center when using any of the variants of RAD-1 or RAD-2 hoops.
