What's in the Full Kit?
1. Mini-ALTO Windshield Pods
Each kit includes a Mini-ALTO Windshield in the size you have chosen (115, 180 or 210)
2. RAD-2 Shockmount
The complete kits have a RAD-2 Shock Mount with 4 pairs of hoops inlcuded (standard, extra soft, soft and extra firm)
3. Fur Windcover
Each kit comes with either a Black or Grey Fur Windcover for an extra layer of wind protection.
4. RAD Cable Staps
We've added a pair of RAD cable straps in for strain relief or to help keep things tidy
5. Smiley Face Adaptor & Screws
This part is secured to the RAD-2 Shock Mount and "magnetically" locks on to the Mini-ALTO windshield pods
6. Windshield Stowage Holder with Carabiner Clip
When not using the windshield pods, you can magnetically lock them onto this holder and clip to your bag, harness or cart
7. XLR Cable (also available as kits without cables)
We've partnered with Cable Techniques to make a custom XLR cable specifically designed to fit the Mini-ALTO
The Add-on kits are suitable for anyone who already has a RAD-1, RAD-2 or RAD-3 Shock Mount. These kits come with the windshield pods shown plus a fur windcover, smiley face RAD mount adaptor and stowage holder with carabiner clip. These are available in versions with a Grey or Black Fur Windcover.
Smiley Happy Face
'The Smiley Happy Face' attachment is the part that allows you to upgrade the RAD Shockmount into a Mini-ALTO. Simply screw the attachment into the centre of the RAD Shockmount and secure by adding the hoops on top.
Stowage Holder
The stowage holder and carabiner clip comes in each kit (including add-on kits) and allows you to quickly attach your baskets to your bag or kit - whilst your not using it.
Field Testing
50 prototype kits were distributed to sound recordists globally, each representing various sectors of the sound industry. The Mini-ALTO has undergone extensive testing, with final adjustments based on tester feedback.
